Helpful info for the game
if your gonna use spears, just buy like 1000.
[Helpful Info you need to know]
1. Build swords in multiples of 60. A full line in battle requires 120 swordsmen.
2. Hoplites in groups of 210.
3. Balloon Bombardiers (If you have) in groups of 15.
4. Sulfur Carabineers in groups of 49.
5. 18 Mortars are needed for a full line in the back, 18 catapults aswell. (Catapults have more munition, 18 Mortars last for 3 rounds)
6. Rams, really useful when running out of munition, since their munition is infinite. At least 30... not sure...
7. Gyrocopters in groups of 30.
8. At least 40 cooks are enough to maintain a full army.
9. 1 medic for every 60 hoplites, if you have a giants-only army, you don't need them.
10. Steam Giants in groups of 70.
11. If the enemy have balloons, don't send mortars, send catapults or rams, since they last longer.
12. Never, ever leave an army without some gyros or alone in an enemy zone, if you don't want to lose your troops while you sleep...
Send the cooks to a nearby area, that way if you are attacked, your morale will go down and your troops will scatter before the enemy destroys them.
I thought I had it written somewhere but, I dont so im gonna have to write it again.
(part 1)
units to build:
Start at the front, you need, hoptiles above 210, or steams above 70, once you go above that amount if your not waving, then just send them in in a block.
Flanks
you need either spears or swords for this, swords are better but not much so, so if you are low on sulfur you can go and buy a load of spears.
you need about the same amount of swords as hops, and 3 times the amount of steams, buy in groups of 30.
Back Line
for this, the only real unit to have are guns, 49 of them to fill a row with 7 per square.
archers cost more do less damage and you need 210 of them to fill a row, no point at all.
Seige
these you buy in groups of 18, so 18-36 cats, and about the same in mortars, its always useful to have 18 rams too, just incase.
Air
right so you need gyros to start with, always get gyros before bombs, so 60-120 is probably enough, if your not using bombs ,then 60 will probably do.
bombs, you want about the same amount of bombs as you have gyros, bombs really turn a battle around and almost always do a very good damage to loss ratio.
notes,
spears: the most useful unit you can have, I think, I try to have 3-500 of them on hand, simply for occupation, pillaging, and if you hapen to run out of troops and you are holding out for reinforcements.
bombs: try to make sure you send your bombs in waves, send in 15 and recall when they land, and have another 15 to land in the next round, works much better, you will kill more and lose less bombs.
And that concludes part 1.
Guidelines for battle
-mortars are the most expensive unit, don't waste them. You should always start a battle with catapults and if the enemy doesn't have balloons then send in your mortars.
-balloons should always be sent in waves of 15 and recalled after they have been hit by enemy gyros (you 15 balloons wave will be down to 7) if you don't do this, you'll lose more and more balloons every round and inflict less and less damage.
-If the enemy doesn't have mortars, don't send balloons.
-If the enemy has mortars, send hoplites to the front, they are not hurt as badly as steam giants by mortars.
-for ships, send your subs in waves of 30, like balloons if you don't do this you'll lose more and more every round.
As a general rule, don't waste valuable units in an already lost battle, there is no shame in running and saving units for the next battle.
Our enemy is much superior in numbers so we should avoid very long battles as much as we can because we can't match their capacity to bring in reinforcements.
You are going to sleep, and your troops are vulnerable?
>
> Just send ALL your cooks to another city. Your troops will just scatter everytime someone tries to destroy them.
